Lazy Blogger

14 April , 2008

The last couple of weeks has been a period full of deadlines, happiness about received grades, shopping greed and internet browsing.  I still have to wait for one grade to come in, Gender and Ethnicity in Europe, so I hope it will be good.

The next two months I will be focussing on writing my BA dissertation.

I will focus on travel literature of the 18th century of Britains (I think women only) about India. It will be quite interesting, and I already ordered a heap of books at bookstores and the library. I love to write about Postcolonial Theories, and with this topic I can combine English Literature (my BA speciality) and Postcolonial writing (hopefully, my future MA speciality)…

But I will probably still have some time to do the superficial stuff, like blogging, shopping, reading crap magazines, etc….

My childhood heroes

19 February , 2008

I am not the very commercial type…I am not a fan of Valentine, Christmas, and so on.
However, I love the commercialisation of my childhood heroes at one of the supermarkets in Holland:

Hee hee, I already have the female teddy one, which I love, and 5 of the small plastic ones.
So, I would like to add a more fashionably and definately prettier lady from my lovely country: Doutzen Kroes in a Teddy-like fashion shoot…

This one reminds me of the film Donnie Darko, with the psycho rabbit. This is more the scary teddy who is going to….(make your own version of this fairytale, but keep the happy and good ending)
